Oki Semiconductor
Announces the Release of ZigBee 2006 Certified Development
Platforms Newly Certified Platforms to
Be Shown at the ZigBee Developers’ Conference and Embedded Systems Conference
Sunnyvale, Calif., March 27th, 2007 —
Oki Semiconductor today announced that the company’s two ZigBee development
platforms, the ZigBee Developers Kit (ZDK) with the ZigBee Network Evaluation
Demo (zNED) board and the Advantage Microcontroller Evaluation Kit for ML67Q4051
(AME-51) with the ZigBee on AME (ZOA) adapter, have attained the 2006 ZigBee
Compliant Platform certification and are ready for deployment to customers.
Achieving 2006 certification shows Oki’s continued commitment to produce high
quality products for IEEE 802.15.4 and ZigBee enabled applications. The two ZigBee development platforms are based on a modular concept to offer
developers maximum design flexibility. Various radio boards and antenna choices
can be substituted and attached to the main ARM7-based board while the supplied
radio board can also be reused in customers’ prototypes to speed up development
time. The radio board features Oki’s ML7065, a 2.4 GHz IEEE 802.15.4 single chip
radio solution with an embedded MAC/PHY, for designing of wirelessly networked
solutions. As an ARM7-based ZigBee solution, Oki’s platform is unique in the
industry, offers ample processing power, and is especially suited for
applications such as industrial sensor and control networks, commercial security
and access control, asset tracking, remote equipment diagnostics, and medical
patient monitoring. These newly certified development platforms will be unveiled at the ZigBee
Developers’ Conference, co-located with the Embedded Systems Conference, taking
place April 3rd through 5th, 2007, at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose.
Oki is conducting a hands-on ZigBee workshop scheduled for April 4th at 8AM and
1:30PM in room G. Embedded System Conference visitors will also be able to stop
by booth 6027 in the ZigBee Pavilion and view the latest demos as well as enter
for a chance to win one of three ZigBee Developers Kits (ZDK) to be given away
at the conference. Oki’s ZigBee Developers Kit (ZDK), ZigBee Network Evaluation Demo (zNED)
board, and the ML7065 radio chip are all currently available for purchase
directly from Oki and through Oki’s distributors Nu Horizons and Mouser
Electronics at MSRPs of $74.95 to $499.95 depending on kit configuration, and
$3.50 @ 1K for the ML7065 radio chip. For more information, please visit http://www.okisemi.com/us/zigbee. About Oki Semiconductor Building on Oki's century-long commitment to communications technologies and
