How do I evaluate the MSM6650 family using an Oki Semiconductor Board?

Descriptive Answer:
Oki Semiconductor offers two types of Evaluation Boards, the MSM6654 Demo Board and the MSM6650 Evaluation Board
Customers interested in the MSM6653A/54A/55A/56A/58A use the MSM6654 Demo Board

Prepare the MSM6654 Demo Board, Voice Tool AR204 or AR205 and OTP part MSM66P54-xx*RS (or MSM66P56-xxRS). Please refer to Answer 48 for creating ROM data (process before programming
1. Program one's voice ROM data into the DIP packaged OTP part on AR204 or AR205 system.
2. Add the DIP packaged OTP part on the MSM6654 Demo Board** and start evaluation.
3. After checking voice quality and IC operation, proceed to manufacturing mask ROM Entry with Oki Semiconductor.
4. Evaluate using the one's suitable packaged mask part on one's own PCB.

* The "-xx" in the OTP part could be any of the following:
-01 is the MCU Serial Interface version
-02 is the MCU Parallel Interface version
-03 is the Stand-alone version with stand-by function
-04 is Stand-alone version without stand-by function

** The MSM6654-xxxRS, a standard code mask part can be pre-installed on 18-pin DIP socket during shipment.
The MSM66P54/56-xxRS has a 20-pin DIP package. Pin 1 and Pin 20 are used for programming only. The leads of Pin 1 (VPP) and Pin 20 (/PGM) may be bent up or cut-off to fit the socket after programming.
The MSM6654/56 have only 18-pins, but the MSM66P54 has 20-pins.

Customers interested in the MSM6650 and MSM6653A/54A/55A/56A/58A should use the MSM6650 Evaluation Board
(1) Prepare the MSM6650 Evaluation Board, AR204 or AR205.
(2) Program* voice ROM data into EPROMs on AR204 or AR205 system prepared on the MSM6650 Eva Board at factory shipment.
(3) Add the Programmed EPROM on the MSM6650 Eva Board and check voice quality and basic operation.
(4.) After checking voice quality and the IC operation on the Oki Semiconductor Board, customers can evaluate using MSM6650GS-BK or MSM6650SS samples on their PCB.
OR
(4) After checking voice quality and MSM6653A/54A/55A/56A/58A operation, proceed to manufacturing mask ROM Entry with Oki.
(5) MSM6653A/54A/55A/56A/58A customers can also evaluate using a packaged* mask part on their PCB.

* Since Oki Semiconductor installs a standard code in EPROMs, customers will need an EPROM Eraser to erase the EPROMs before programming.
