Community
Relations OKI Semiconductor has been a leader on the Nikkei Kigyo Advisory Committee,
an organization which promotes United Way fundraising in Japanese-owned
companies in the Silicon Valley.
Through our parent company, OKI Semiconductor partners with Youth for
Understanding, a non-profit international exchange program that promotes
cross-cultural understanding. High school students from Sunnyvale spend six
weeks each summer in Japan, living with Japanese host families and attending
local schools.
A spirit of community involvement is encouraged among OKI Semiconductor
employees, too. This past Christmas, OKI employees gave toys, plus donations of
cash and food, to the Sunnyvale Community Center's annual Toys for Tots drive.
The toys and food were distributed to needy families in the Sunnyvale area
during the Christmas season. |
